Refined Materials
The interior, adorned with marble, wood, and a variety of premium materials, demanded high-quality lighting to accentuate textures and colors. The design primarily incorporates LED strips, carefully selected to complement each material's unique beauty.
Overcoming Challenges
Finding cost-effective LEDs capable of highlighting the luxurious materials was a key challenge, achieved with LEDs boasting a CRI > 95 and a color temperature of 2700K. Ensuring compatibility with the Lutron control system installed throughout the house required all LEDs to be dimmable through a 0-10v system.
The project also demanded meticulous planning to select the right channels for various applications, from cove lighting to exterior features in the courtyard, ensuring no voltage drop issues and maintaining control system integrity. The diversity of custom lengths posed another challenge, successfully managed in collaboration with the Electrical Contractor to minimize material waste.
Duratape by Targetti
Duratape was chosen for its professional-grade qualities, setting it apart from common market alternatives. Its superior durability, efficient heat dissipation, LED uniformity, high CRI > 95, and the close placement of LEDs to prevent dotting in diffusers, underscored the product's quality.
The extensive use of LED strips, over 1700 ft, as the primary source of illumination is a noteworthy aspect of this project, illuminating the luxury home with a modern touch.
